Universities in Turkey

Istanbul Beykent University
A private foundation university established in 1997 and one of Istanbul's largest, with around 30,000 students. It teaches across faculties including engineering, law, health sciences, fine arts and communication, on several campuses in central districts such as Ayazağa, Taksim and Beylikdüzü.

Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ)
A public university whose roots go back to 1773, making it one of the world's oldest technical universities and one of Turkey's leading schools of engineering and architecture. Its main campus is in Ayazağa/Maslak, and many programmes are taught in English.

Istanbul University
One of Turkey's oldest institutions of higher learning, tracing its roots to a school founded after the conquest of Istanbul in 1453 and reorganised as a modern university in 1933. A public university with its historic main campus in Beyazıt, spanning faculties from medicine and law to sciences and humanities.

Hacettepe University
A public university in Ankara founded in 1967, with a strong reputation especially in medicine and health sciences and large university hospitals. It has two main campuses: Sıhhiye in the city centre and Beytepe.

Ibn Haldun University
A private foundation university established in 2015 that began teaching in the 2017–2018 academic year, with its campus in Başakşehir, Istanbul. It focuses on humanities and social sciences, law, education and Islamic studies, and teaches many programmes in English.

Üsküdar University
